Hey everyone,

My rabbits seems to have scaly feet and one has a scaly tail. I was keeping them in cages on the dirt and it was crowded until I finished building my colony. Could this be cause from standing on urine or feces. They are all in a large colony now with lots of room and clean conditions.

I have been reading and it seems like it could be mites, but is this normal to get only on the feet like this. I can start treating with Apple Cider Vinegar or Olive oil if this is the case.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Urine burns can cause scaling on the bottom of feet and tail but a picture would help us better identify the problem.

Mites usually start around the head and between toes then spread out and they cause flaky skin not actual scaling.

I see you are in Aqaba and you may have unique diseases to your area that we dont get in North America so maybe ask some local rabbit keepers.

Good luck
