Feeding oats

Whole oats are half the cost of pellets. $22 vs &12. I've been mixing in the whole outs at about 20% trying to trim costs. Any thoughts ?

I started feeding barley to growouts this year, for same reasons. I don't feed whole kernels to keepers though for fear that it could mess up their teeth - I had a doe with chronic running eyes and suspect that overgrown roots due to feeding corn for some years was part of the cause. No such worry with growouts.
