It's easy to forget what plants might be beneficial when our rabbits are under stress due to health issues, so I thought we should have a thread for it. I'll sticky it if it turns out to be beneficial.

I'll start off with some that I have used with good results and I hope others will add their favourites. I'll come back later and expand on how the plants are used, but I'm a bit pressed for time this morning. :)

For pain and fever:
Willow (Salix spp.) the inner bark.

For diarrhea or soft stools:
Plantain (Plantago spp.)
Shepherd's Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris)
Red raspberry leaves
Blackberry leaves
Strawberry leaves

For Kindling Issues: (needs more explanation)
Red raspberry leaves
Lavender buds

For Enhancing Lactation:
(I'll come back to this.)

For Ending or Controlling Lactation:
Mint (Mentha spp.)
Catnip (Nepeta cataria)
Garden Sage (Salvia officinalis)

Just a start, folks! Hope you'll post any others you know or expand on how these are used. :)

We have a small-ish willow tree up at our pond that we get a few times for the rabbits, but we don't need it that often.
