OK so one of our babies 2.5 weeks hasn't opened its eyes all the others have. I haven't had a really good look yet but it doesn't even look like the corners have started opening all the rest of the litter 3 others have fully open eyes 3 or 3 days ago. Is it nest box eye and how do you know what nest box eye looks like?

Don't wait much longer or you increase the risk that the kit will become blind. You can moisten the eye with a damp cloth or a tea bag, then begin to peel it open. If it's nest box eye it will be crusty or oozing puss. If you can, some terramycin ointment would work well.

Done eye opened up easily so I'm guessing it wasn't really bad as yet all cleaned up so she/he looks like the others now. A little bit crusty but mostly looked like the fur fluff had just matted over the eye

I have found that chamomile tea mixed with organic honey is a very effective treatment for nest box eye.

If the eyes get crusty again you might try treating with that.

Thank you, i could not remember which tea it was.

make a point of NOT becoming attached to that kit.
Turn it into food when it is at the right size. genetics matter with nextbox eye.

glad you got it sorted out.
