we picked up 2 senior girls from a friend a couple weeks ago. As luck would have it I notice an eye problem as we are leaving to go out of town.

Fur missing at the inner corner of the one eye. Yellow crust on the bared skin near the tear duct. Eye not red, sore or pus filled. Just the no fur/crusty situation.

No mess on paws.

Any thoughts?

If the yellow crust is clear and not milky white or vanilla pudding yellow (or pistachio pudding green) then it sounds like irritation (allergy, trauma, fumes) or viral and not bacterial .. yet ;)

You can try rinsing the eye with warm water to flush out anything in there.

What is the air circulation like in their location? Any strong smells or smoke blowing into the area?

The bunnies were in the garage that was served as their rabbitry. It's just so hard to say how it started. They were well looked after and this is an oversight. She's a bit of a cranky senior and I didn't see it right away either. I've been spraying several times a day with vetricyn.

-- Sat Dec 12, 2015 11:21 am --

The bunnies are now in my bunny shed with consistent ventilation.
