Eye injury care

One of my little buns has an eye injury. I'm pretty sure based on how it looks that its an injury not eye based infection (though the injury could be infected).

I cleaned it gently with a warm cloth and put ointment on the owie part on the lower lid (not the eye ball itself).

Any suggestions? Or just keep an eye on it (pun intended).

just keep it clean and watch it closely is what I'd do.
First sign of bad infection I'd be culling it.

When the rescue I worked with had a rabbit like that the vet administered metacalm (sp?) for pain, and gave a shot of long lasting penicillin.
