Rabbittosis has struck again  I was at rural king getting some chicken food when I seen a cage full of rabbits. there was 2 dutch rabbits in there, (which my daughter had seen that breed at a rabbit show and wanted) so of course I showed the greatest restraint and came home with only 1!

Of course I don't know much about the breed, other than the markings are important, but I figure someone on here could give me their opinion on how she looks. I hope I have her posed right, oh and she is about 8 weeks old, the workers don't know her exact age, only that she is young.

My daughter will be showing Oreo at the fair this year, and I told her if the rabbit is good enough maybe we will find her a boyfriend

She looks good. Her stops look clean, the cheek round looks hooked under the jaw. Her Saddle looks even though hard to tell without seeing the underside and her ears are on it in the pic. She does have a nice even blaze. She looks to have good shoulders, not to long, and a nice round hindquarter.

In all I would be happy to have this bun in my herd. Good job on getting her. :)

Yes, I cocur with Sagebrush,
that Dutch looks pretty nice. You made a very good choice.
There is always room for improvement no matter where you start.
With a good Buck you might be well on your way to producing
a nice herd of Dutch in your future. I would suggest that you purchase
a copy of "The Standard of Perfection" it will give you all of the specifics
you need to follow to produce possible WINNERS!
ice job, GOOD LUCK!

I am going to order the SOP but I had a question first before I ordered it. It is republished every 5 years and the current one says 2011-2015, should I go ahead and order that one or wait until the new one comes out? Does the standard really change much, I would be fine with getting an older one if it doesn't.

I will have to get a picture of her underside, kind of hard to do myself, but I do know its not as even as the top.

She is a sweet rabbit, much calmer than the NZW and lionheads. My daughter looks forward to showing her!

here is a picture of her top with the ears out of the way.

The only difference that I can see for the future publication is the addition of a new breed to the book or replacing a new standard. I had gotten new pages for the Lionhead when I got my SOP earlier last year.

Ok her Saddle looks pretty good, it does look like it comes to a little bit of a point in the middle but definitely not a DQ. It could be just the way it is pulling with her ears forward.

thanks sagebrush! Ithink Iwill go ahead and order it this weekend then.
