We have a bunny that had nest box eye. We purchased terramycin and applied it a few times over the past couple weeks. His eye is open but looks funny (pink) around the edges, unlike the other normal eye.

I'm wondering if this ever goes away, or just stays with him forever? He's about 6 weeks old now and doing just fine........ with the exception of the funny looking eye.

Thank you.

Conjuctivitis aka pink eye. More terramycin should work. You might want to also flush the eye. Saline or human eye wash/irrigation that you can find at pharmacy sections.

I would bump up the treatments to two or three treatments per day. It sounds like you have just been knocking the numbers down, but not killing all of the bacteria.

If that doesn't work, you will need to try a different drug. There are amoxicillin based eye ointments, and I have also heard that Pen-G Procaine (penicillin for livestock) can be dropped directly into the eye and may do the trick.
