i am having a hard time telling when my doe comes to her cycle. Or if i am doing things right. i only have one doe that is about year old an has only been breed the one time i tired. I keep my does in a 3 stall hutch an then my two bucks in another hutch. Should i be keeping my buck in between two does how offten do they come in a cycle. I have tried to look this up but can not really find a straight answer. How do you know if they are ready to breed.

Rabbit does don't actually have a cycle like many other animals do. They are called induced ovulators, which means that the release of eggs is caused by mating. Eggs are released some 9 hours or so after mating.

Still, a doe will be more ready some times than others. The thread linked above is a good one, complete with pictures.

If you are having a hard time getting your does to mate, then yes, putting the buck next door can help them become ready quickly. A little apple cider vinegar in their water can help, too.

I had a problem with my doe not wanting to breed. I took the advice of a member here and housed the buck and her beside each other and brought her to his cage every morning and evening. On the third morning she finally let him breed her. So I guess putting them beside each other gives the buck time to romance her a little LOL!
