Cali, our Californian doe, seems to have paralyzed back legs. I can't move them back her ankle joint. It feels like there's fluid buildup on her lower butt. It's warm, and when I touched it she was in a hurry to get away. No aggression. She seems to be lethargic. She has a cut on her, but it was healing nicely (or so I thought). She appears to have some blood on her vent.

Vet isn't an option. I can Sneak her inside, but she can't live inside long term. I can put her in the back room, where its not as cold, but still cold (like a garage).

I think she'll be going to the soup pot soon. We spent $80 on these 2 rabbits, 1 went to the pot because we didnt have room for 2 bucks, and looks like the 2nd one will too.
Sad.

I like having a colony, but so far.. I think Ill have my dad build some hutches.
Seems nicer.

Silver, rosa and Charlie (my buck & 2 bonded does) do great together. But Im starting to think rosa & Charlie didn't take. I wonder if they're spayed. Even sadder if they are. We've spent a lot of money on these buns, and can't just toss them in the trash. We need to break even.

Those symptoms seem pretty harsh. :( Not sure what fluid buildup in a lower butt looks like, but I'm kinda glad I've never seen it before.

I've lost expensive rabbits too, so I can empathize, it's really rough!

It just looks.. Weird. Like there's extra skin pulled down. But it's squishy and hot.
I'm going to put her down today :( I really liked her.

I do not like colonies any more.

Do they fight a lot, or is it an issue with disease?

I couldn't imagine all my does getting along in a colony, but I do have a large play yard (18x 22 ft) for exercise and fun, or sometimes growout kits live there.

Well, the colony they're in is 5' x 6'. So 30sq ft, 4 rabbits in it, about 7sq ft per rabbit. You'd think that's enough. They also have cardboard to play with, a dog hutch to go into and a cat carrier.

I think it was caused by fighting *sigh* Rosa and Charlie get along, at least. Guess ill be down to 10sq ft per rabbit for a while...

Sorry to hear that...unfortunately adult rabbits do have a hard time getting along in a colony unless it is a very large space and they were raised that way. Hopefully, your other two will give you a litter to help repopulate soon.
