I put my Californian doe in with my red NZ and he tried and she wouldn't raise, so I took her out and put her in with my Holland lop. He bred her then he fell over and she got up and climbed on top of him and humped him and fell over like she was imitating him. After a bit Oreo bred her again. I took he doe out and put her back in her cage and she peed. I took her out and put her in with the red NZ and he bred her. I put her back in her cage and she peed again. I have 3 questions.

1. Why did she mount Oreo?
2. Do you think she got bred?
3. Is it weird she would pee after both bucks bred her?

1. She mounted Oreo to make sure he knew absolutely who was boss in that cage. It's a dominance display that you will see even among does. Strange, but true.

2. Absolutely, unless both bucks are heat sterile, she is bred. And you could end up with a wild and crazy litter, with kits from both fathers!

3. You know... I'm not sure if that's weird or not. I haven't noticed if my does do that. I'll have to pay attention. I know that a doe has occasionally peed while in the buck's cage, which made him go absolutely bananas!

As I understand it from what I know of other species and breeding, sometimes if the female doesn't void her bladder before mating, afterwards it's uncomfortable so she'll pee. I know some breeders feel that peeing right after being bred can cause them to "miss" but I've known enough mares and female dogs who've had foals and litters after a post-breeding pee, so I wouldn't worry. :)
