Doe died giving birth

Thank you, they are going out to new homes 7 out this weekend to very good homes. We started with 25 between the two batches, one had 15 the one who died had 8 and fed them for a couple days before she got hurt. We are keeping one of her babies. Pepper has passed but Pepperchini will live on, hopefully as great a mom as her mom was. We lost 5 or 6 in the first few days after birth as they were so so tiny, but the ones we tried so hard to save and lost were hard to take so I can soooo sympathize with the couple who tried so hard to save them. The person who said sometimes they pass no matter what you do, it is called failure to thrive. All you can do is try! We have saved 3 others from our Rex litters by helping the mom until all her milk came in. We just supplimented the littlest ones that were getting weak with colostrum rich milk mixture and they soon get strong enough to fight for their share. Good to keep on hand! Sounds like you did everything you could. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, even with the best of care and intentions. So sorry for your losses. Merry Christmas to you.

UPDATE They are one by one died and the last one died today. After all the time we spend feeding them and caring for them and the money as seniors on disability we can't afford to just throw away and now the poor things are gone and our hearts are broken. We lost the Doe her four kits and then to top it off our best hen today got into our duck pool and drowned. Not a good day

I am sorry! It is so tough to lose rabbits. Especially when you have nurtured them.

I am so sorry to hear how hard things have gone for you. Try not to feel too bad, it is very difficult to raise newborn bunnies. It may not have had anything to do with how you cared for them - they may have been compromised by whatever caused the mother to die.

It's been tough year for a bunch of us up here in AK, too, even seasoned breeders. For some reason a lot of us have lost a lot of rabbits to all kinds of things, and some we never did figure out. It is heartbreaking, for sure. Raising living things is always a challenge, and it seems that if it's not one thing, it's another. But hang in there. God always has a master plan when He allows these kind of trials, even if we can't see it in the moment.

Our Doe died sometimes this morning giving birth to her second litter. She had three kits about a month and half ago and today she gave birth to 4 more and bleed to death. Poor girl we was heart broken to find her gone.
Now we don't know what to do to help these little baby kits survive. We have two other male/female pairs in other cages waiting to see if they have successfully made it and will have babies or not. So can we put the babies in with those females. Or has anybody had luck bottle feeding and raising kits from birth like this and they survive. If so how do we do it and what are we use for the milk and how often do we give them milk from this point on. Any help will be much appreciated thank you and God bless. New Update: Another Doe had 5 new kits but lost one a few days after we lost the last of the 4 we was having to hand feed. We was so happy and sad all in at once for if only she had hers sooner. But anyway we have now 4 healthy baby kits and their mother is doing good so fair. Thank everyone here for the awesome responses. We are more prepared if this happens ever again which we pray it never does. We was also blessed with a young black doe by some friends that showed up in their yard and they couldn't find the owner. They ran an ad for a few weeks with no luck. So she will be a good addition to our rabbits and homestead.
