Well, the buns are doing well. Finally got the "Free" rabbit's eye infection cleared up. Now Hubs says the buns must go. He's tired what with moving his mother (from the family farm in Ohio to just up the street.) I don't think it really has much to do with the rabbits themselves.

Meanwhile, it's time to shear again. Louie is so gorgeous. I hate to cut him down. The young buns (Milton and Bradley) are getting quite tame and starting to mature, i.e. will soon need individual cages.

I'm just on the verge of tears. I have all this wool, and am doing nothing with it. I'm never going to have baby bunnies at my house....somebody please just give me a pep talk.

:( I wish I knew what to say! :(

Is your Hubs' bunny proclamation absolutely final? I mean, do you think he might change his mind after a couple of days and some rest?

Maybe you can pluck Louie instead of shearing, to keep him from looking like he just got mowed. :) I understand you can often get the fur out in handfuls if it's ready to come.

I don't think Hubs really means it....for one thing, he didn't really know how many rabbits I've even got...was assuming more. (In that case, I've already found homes for two of the rabbits he THOUGHT I had!) We're both exhausted and now the washing machine needs to be replaced...

I have to shear my two reds, as they mat from the skin out, if they are shedding. My others are less mat prone. Maybe a long grooming session would improve my outlook...I need some bun-snuggle energy.

Sometimes we all get overwhelmed and want to simplify life. Are there any other activities or hobbies that you can cut from your schedules? Animals bring their own brand of joy and relaxation to our lives, so I feel that the time invested in routine care is a small price to pay. :)

Some activities and hobbies can just be shelved for a time... Like doing something with the wool.

Who does the actual day to day rabbit care? I'll bet it's you, Kim! So why should your hubby object? Sorry, but I don't feel spouses have the right to dictate decisions like that. Decisions need to be made by consensus, through civilized discussion. I hope he was just temporarily exhausted and frustrated and changes his mind.

Life sometimes puts lots of pressure on people, and rash decisions are made to ease that pressure. Go snuggle with your bunnies, and let your husband's pressure from moving Mom, now that it's complete, ease a bit, and then discuss the rabbits.

Hoping things settle down for both of you, and you can start to focus on your rabbits, which IMHO are what help ease the pressures of life here.
