As a rabbit farmer. And a papa n dad. Our rabbitry has to be a working self sustainable operation. It's a fabulous learning tool for us homeschool folks or city folks. Clean, quiet. Growing your own food. Harvesting processing cooking recycling back into the same system, better than how it left. To be part of a total plan. Good, sustainable healthy food for our family. Complete circle.
Almost all could do this. Our 3-4 does n buck can feed our families. 300 pounds a year. And we are adding in chickens again. I will have excellent materials to create a great compost. For beds or pots. Vegetables to herbs.
Our development plan includes marketing the composted dried n mulched compost threw several local greenhouses. I will barter the compost for floor space. Goal will be 2-3 thousand pounds of compost sold per year. We will start our breeding program any day now, soon. And goals are 10-15 kits sold to cover our yearly grain expenses. Estimate costs of 600-700 bucks. We forage bags of dried leaves for extra vitamins n minerals in winter diet. Fresh willow, birch n poplar/cottonwood trees for more needed minerals. All natural products for healthy rabbitry. Greens in the summer, dandelions n such.

All from 4 little bunnies.
