What can case 2 rabbits to have diarrhea for the last month?? First i put them on a hay diet and cleared it up only to have it come back. Ive wormed 1 and put baycox in the water and they both have pooy bottoms again. What else cases problems like this?? Im totally stumped. They live side by side along with a jr doe who also had it but she cleared up after the hay diet. There all jrs close to the same age 1 boy 2 girls. There also beside a adult buck who knock on wood has not showed anything. Cage setup is hanging wire cages feed is purina in the green sack. Im thinking about trying a new feed to see if that helps. But all my other rabbits are fine.
After they clear up on the hay there where fine for a few days but it always comes back. The poor buck i can tell is stunted because of it as he has had it worse then the doe. Who i thought had finally kicked it but noticed its back. The buck will only clear up if he is on hay only but it will come right back as soon as i start feed agian. Dont sound like cocci or worms i dont think. Can someone give me ideas??

I'm struggling with a very similar problem right now. I have a jr buck I recently purchased who's clear if all he gets are oats and hay, but as soon as he eats any pellets it comes right back. I'm feeding manna pro sho pellets.
It's been going on for at least a month.

I'm afraid he may never reach his full adult size if he doesn't start eating like a normal rabbit!

Cocci probably fits the best. It hits immature rabbits after weaning and before their immune system is fully developped but adults are often resistant. It can strike without warning but more often the rabbits suffer diarrhea for awhile as they lose condition until they die from some complication.

:yeahthat: I hope it's not but that is what it sounds like.

so the baycox did not work or i underdosed it since there was no info on the net about it. So i guess i need to go to town and buy some cocci meds.

Diarrhea is a symptom, there can be many causative factors. Coccidia is a common one, others can be some type of imbalance in gut flora, feed issues can be another another.

While it is important to figure out the cause, I have this in my first aid kit and it works very well, Bio Sponge https://www.platinumperformance.com/Bio ... fo/EBIOP4/ I use the paste and give around a pea sized amount, the clay binds the bad bacteria and helps calm their gut.

I also think there can be genetic factors and personally won't breed anything that shows signs of digestive issues.
