W.. Dexter imported the first Polish rabbits. Could they be Polish rabbits and the breeder refers to them by the first person who imported them back in early 1900s? Kind of odd but a possibility? Not that familiar with Polish, but I researched them when we were deciding on what breed to start with.

Never heard of them. I did a search also, and there is nothing even close to the name in case they were a little off.

They are cute little guys though. :)

Nice healthy looking rabbits but why did she get TWo breeding trios? Seems like she'll be feeding a buck she doesn't need to. One buck can easily take care of four ladies.

They do look like Polish to me....I have never heard of "Dexter" rabbits either...it certainly is not a breed that is recognized by the ARBA.

I've heard of Dexter cattle, really small dual purpose cows that come up to about a person's waist. Maybe the name is a take off of that? Small and meaty? Suppose it doesn't really matter as long as she likes them and didn't pay out the nose for them. They're certainly cute!

I have no clue why she got two bucks lol shes a newbie
That reminds me of a joke I heard years ago. An old maid was buying some chickens from a farmer. "I want ten hens and ten roosters", she said. The farmer replied,"Well I'd be happy to sell them to you but you really only need one rooster for ten hens".
"No" sighed the old maid,"I know what it's like to be lonely".

Here's what I found.

Thanks Laura, peaked my interest on the Polish history. Definitely looks like Polish. Maybe they are descendents from the originals that Mr. Dexter started, so that's why they are called that?

Hoodat, thanks for the joke. Made me laugh. lol
