Our Flemish are growing much too fast to keep up with their cages. We had a litter of 11 and no shows for about another month, so I had to take drastic measures and put them on a tractor system because it just wasn't fair to them to be confined to such small quarters. So here's how you build a junky tractor for $35.
1 bag of cheap zip ties
8 1 1/2" 10 foot pvc pipe
generic UV protected tarp (not in picture)
and whatever solid wire you have lying around (I admit that's probably the most expensive part and I just cannibalized wire from the garden)

Not recommended if you don't have herd dogs, of which we have two, to keep them safe from intruders. It's hard to see from the pic, but the wire comes in 8 inches on all sides they can't just dig underneath the pipe to escape.

Man what a hunk of junk :D
I'm sure they'll grow out of it in a month.

:x Man........clip them zip-ties!!! :x LOL.
Ain't they about as handy as a pocket on a shirt??

Run an 8 or 10 inch skirt of wire around the outside edge on the ground.
That'll keep critters from diggin' under it.

Poor man's got poor ways.
been there done that many, many times.

I'm going to guess one of them will slip out that wire in the next few days.
You do have a net to catch escapees, right?
=p

Looks great to me! :p

I like the use of the drawer frames. :)

Those are some nice-looking young Flemmies... maybe you should take deposits, to lessen the chances of no-shows. Hope you get buyers soon! :clover:

We only sell if we're going to shows. Or unless we're dropping off for people we know are other breeders and usually those are freebies anyway.

The only place I see where they can get out is maybe at the right end, where that pipe does not appear to be attached to anything but the wire.

__________ Sat Jul 06, 2013 10:18 pm __________

They can stick half their heads through but that's about it. The spacing on the wire makes this only a temporary holding pen for growouts, but only when they're big enough they can't slip through. I don't think we would ever use these for our Lilacs or Silver Foxes.

That looks like my turkey tractor! Except there's no hole from a beagle-mix ramming through it. :?

If it works, then it's a success!

It really doesn't look all that junky- the white pvc pipe and green wire gives it a clean look- nicer than say- chicken wire and rusty pipes-- and if its light and easy to move, and they can't get out its perfect.

Not so bad. Some joints T's, 90's and 3 ways along with some PVC glue will go a long way. Rabbits look happy That all that counts. Loving your green grass all I have is dead brown and dirt. Drought still in SW Okla.

It looks good to me too. I envy your green grass. Just dirt and sticks here. I've even had to plant dandelions. I'm babying them along as best as I can.

 Yea TMTex not just planting dandelions and pigweed but watering it and chasing the grasshoppers off it. Had to go back to alfa supplment nothing green here. Poor bunnies. :weep:

It looks good and practical but why so tall?
18 inches is just all you need to reach and grab them.

I think it looks great!

I needed this for motivation so I can build one for my chickens so they can weed my garden for me. :)
