I took a bus I normally don't ride a couple of days ago and saw out the window an interesting patch of green. On my way back I got off at a nearby stop and went to look. WOW!! Giant French dandelion growing all over the place. It must have escaped from someones garden. I'm going back today to gather some and also get some seed so I can start it in my garden for both myself and the bunrabs. Most of the greens I gather require driving so it's nice to find a good source on a bus route.

wash them well just in case they get sprayed ever - excellent find! Congrats!

I'd collect seeds but I dunno about greens. Generally it's suggested to avoid road side vegetation because of pollution and dirt from the vehicles. I'd prefer to get at least 5 if not 10' from the road before collecting. Small animals have been killed by the pollution from vehicles and gas mowers along ditches and driveways.

The dandelion plants I have transplanted to my patio area have responded quite well, They seem to not shock as readily or badly as some other wild plants. Some of them, I fed the tops top the rabbits, and just planted the roots-- they have recovered very nicely.

Nice find! Even nicer if you can get them established in your garden... which should not be difficult. :)
Probably be more difficult to get them back out than in. :x
