NOTE: both kits are dead. I do NOT have pictures.
One was a kit born to a rescue doe. Three healthy kits and one "odd" one. I wasn't sure if she over-cleaned it or if was born with a head depression. It was overall a messy kit and I wasn't going to attempt to clean it in case I cause damage to such a wee one. It survived for two days and when I found it dead this morning it was like it's head was empty (not doe eaten). Very odd. Normal sized. The kits were large for coming from a holland lop though she's on the bigger end of the scale for hollands.
Second kit. Litter is about three weeks old. Kits are handled daily. it was fine yesterday. A nice solid kit that I was hopeful for (little doe (one of four) have two people waiting for the litter).
Found it today dead. NO belly fur. Like gone completely AND it looked like the skin had extra folds. TOTALLY odd. I didn't know what was up with it so I tossed it in the compost. What might cause that?
