Coughing and kindling

I have a doe that was coughing up a storm and sounded like she was trying to get something out of her throat or about to throw up. She just had 3 kits that died in the cold. Is this related or is she sick? It also may be reaction to my neighbor's wood burning smoke. She didn't cough much today.

Maybe she's gagging on a bit of birthing goop stuck in her throat? I've heard does gag on placentas they're trying to swallow before. Offer a bowl of water maybe if she's on a water bottle.
