We had two of our grow out bucks in a cage together. We were trying to decide if we wanted to keep, sell or make them dinners. They are the last litter we had that made it. This evening as we were doing evening care, Bob, noticed the one buck had red on his ears. Upon closer inspection the tips of his ears are chewed to bits.

We have separated them and I cleaned the wounds on both ears. Anything else I should do? I have never had this happen before. I have found conflicting information and would like some input from you all.

Spray on a little Blu-Kote....I had a grow out get his ear torn pretty badly about one third of the way from the tip, a tear about on inch long , horizontally . I sprayed it with Blu-Kote and it healed right up.was still torn but, the wound healed.

Yep, Blu-Kote is good stuff. If you don't have any, the cleaning should be sufficient. They'll probably heal up alright. Just watch for oozing, swelling (they may swell a little just from being chewed), and angry redness.

Thank you so much. His ears are healing nicely. They are looking better everyday. He is also seeming to come out of his shell more, now that he has his own space.
