Does anyone have advice on changing feeding time from sunrise to sunset? With the misters I need to minimize the exposure of the feed to water which dictates that I feed in the evenings.

I want to make the transition as smooth as possible on the herd.

Suggestions appreciated.

I'd probably give about a third of what you normally give them in the morning, and then the rest at night. After that, you should be able to just feed them at night. This would give them something to carry them, but it should be gone by the time you turn on the misters.

If you have hay, it would be good to give them plenty of hay in the morning or when you go out to turn on the misters. You can remove it in the evening if it's damp, but it'll give them something to munch and help their guts to make it through the transition.

:)

smooth as possible, just make the switch immediately... all at once. Rabbits adapt quickly. OR if you want to. feed half in the morning, feed the other half at night. but with this heat...I'd just do the switch all at once.

Just increase their feed one morning by about 25-50%, skip a morning feeding altogether on the day afterward, and then feed them that evening of the skipped morning. This time of year is probably the best to do it in because their apetites aren't normally heavy to begin with.

Whatever you do, keep watering them morning and night, as well as at noon if there's absolutely any way you can do so. They should ALWAYS have fresh water in front of them. Doubling up water crocks for does with litters isn't a bad idea, either.
