I only have one purebred Champagne, a buck, plus 2 does crossbred with Silver Fox, because I am not planning on showing them and that fit my budget. I wish you were closer, if I do decide to get some purebreed does, it'd be great not to worry about their being too closely related to D'Artagnan. That doe you have pictured is AWESOME!

Thanks leanne....The doe in the above pic might be pregnant. I will be keeping all the babies. I did find 2 more from another breeder that lost allot of his does this year. SO it is slim. I will be getting them on the 22. I hope. I will post pic when i get them.

Sorry to hear that. But if you are doing some heavy meat breeding, then Rex are not a good choice. They take longer to get to get to fryer size, longer to mature, that coat comes at the expense of fast growth. I had a choice between champagnes and Silver Foxes, and I took the foxes because they were easily accessible, but either one would have been a wise choice. Once I get the Silver Fox going, I can be even more selective about which Rexes I keep.

yes, sky i new that. But i like there coat. I want the furs for pelts and meat of course. The champagne are for the same reason. Also need more breeders out there for this breed. They are a beautiful rabbit. But better for meat and furs than the rex. I had mini rex in the past. But i think the rex would of cost me more money in the end.

Yep, same reason for silver fox. Except there still aren't as many breeders as I would like, but I'll trade that for the faster growth. Rex are a money drain.

Mary Ann, go for it with the Champagnes. So true, not many breeders out there with this gorgeous rabbit. Double purpose, fur and meat. Absolutely beautiful doe you have. Coloring is amazing and she has some heft to her. Looks very strong and fit. You could really help bring this amazing breed back. Champagnes and Silver Foxes are very rare. Both dual purpose rabbits that have almost been forgotten.
