We got a new kitten over this weekend and I think shes full of fleas. Will DE help and can it be used to dust her? If not, what do you all suggest? Thanks! I would also take any tips on treating the furniture....

Yes you can dust her with it. Just be sure to use it in a well ventilated area.

Just be careful on her face, stopping short of her eyes and nose. The DE will work the rest of the way into the fur around those as she moves and bathes.
You can dust your furniture and carpet with the DE, and then vacuum it out. I'm not certain how long you leave it, but the info should be fairly easy to find.
You'll probably need to retreat every 10 days, until she's been treated 3 or maybe 4 times. This makes sure you get all the hatching eggs, as eggs are not killed by DE.
