California selling age

saw this ad in craigslist selling rabbits that are under 5 weeks old. I think they are pushing for Christmas. I know that I found the law once upon a time, but I didn't bookmark it. For California it is 8-weeks old.

That's very young but possible, not that I'd ever take anything from a breeder who sells at that age. says more about the person selling.

from what I know most of the states in the USA have an 8 week minimum selling age.

Selling before 5 weeks of age really aught not be done (as a single unit). But from five weeks on, many (many NOT all) kits are good to go. One needs to know and understand the kits involved and not treat them like a single package. I've kits that I'll let go at five weeks (not many but a few) and others at six weeks and others I'll hold until they are 10-12 weeks. Depends on the rabbit mostly.
