I have seen several pictures of what appears to be a white plastic cage floor mat. The ones I have seen pictured look to have oval holesevenly spaced. I am certain these are for rabbit's comfort for feet, but where do I get a few of these? I am setting my rabbit housing up as well as I can before adding bunnies. I still need a few mats if you experts think they are desirable, and my self watering system components should arrive in the mail today. it looks like a sink protector mat of some sort.

Thank you in advance.

__________ Wed May 16, 2012 6:19 am __________

Also, this would be for an all wire cage. It looks like some of you add a small matt to enable your rabbits a place to go to get off the wire.

TSC has them. Online stores also have them. But my rabbits don't have them nor do they need them. With good furring on the feet and well kept and proper wire flooring, they don't need it. Mine just never used it, so I tossed them out.

I use wooden plank piece in my cages. When i take out the nesting boxes i put one in and there is were the babies hang out and cuddle together. I take it out around 6 weeks old depending. I have mature buck that loves his board. THen i have a doe that dosnt use it at all. It depends on the rabbit.

I got mine at TSC Tractor Supply. I believe they are around 7.00 each. They are nice cause they allow air flow and the poop falls through them.

I don't have resting boards, but I hang large plant pots from the roof of the cage to provide a resting area off of the wire.

You can get them from online suppliers as well, like Bass, Klubertanz or bunnyrabbit.com. I have them and I like to use them to give the rabbits a place to get off the wire.

I have them for my Rexes and my Cals. My Zils have tough feet and don't seem to need them. I got mine at Tractor Supply, as well.

I've gotten then from TSC, and from shows, they are 1/3 the cost of TSC. I use wooden boards too, but find that they poop on the wooden boards, or the place where the board meets the cage harbors a poop/hay/fur mat. And then some don't even use them at all.
