One of our 7 week old kits is holding his leg funny today. A smaller child had been holding him and playing with him, something that they have done since the kits were 2 weeks old.
So I don't know if the child pulled him by the leg or exactly how it got injured, but the kit is supposed to go to his new home next week. What should I do? Give it a few days and see if it gets better? Go to the vet now?

Trying to add a pic, not sure if it will be helpful...it looks a little out of place and he's using it more this afternoon, but still babying a little, holding it funny....

-- Thu May 28, 2015 2:08 pm --

Added a pic to the gallery but couldn't get it to load on this discussion post....pop over there to take a look if you have time.....

I'm having a hard time making out much.
Perhaps the joint was sprained? Or maybe dislocated? I can't tell by the picture.

Is there any swelling?

I had a doe get a sprain once, catching her foot in the side wire of a (solid bottomed) pet store cage. A few days of limited movement on a solid surface was all she needed to recover.

You can take him to the vet and get their opinion if that's something you like to do.

Thanks Zass, it must have been my phone being temperamental......I'll give it another day or so since it seemed to already improve, I prefer not to spend money if I don't have to. Hopefully it's quickly resolved. Are they easily dislocated? I noticed him scratching with it but it doesn't look like it's reading more off to the side than before....
