Thinking of making 2-3 cages. Size wise thinking 18x24x24 or 18x24x30, haven't chosen a breed yet. Looked on Klubertanz website and it's $77.10 for 50' 1/2"x1/2"x18" 16 gauge. I'd hate to see the cost on shipping. A cage on their site for a 24x24x18 1/2"x1" for the floor and 2"x1" sides. With the sides I worry about raccoons being able to reach in. Those cages are $28.90 or ($57.80 for 2). And then I found some wire on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/309312A-24-In...F8&qid=1371003359&sr=8-1&keywords=g+b+309312ait's $36.11 for 25'. How many 24x24 or 24x30 cages can I make with 25'? I suck at math, so I'll leave it to the gifted. I was also wondering if it'd be cheaper/better to use plywood for the back and sides and have a wire front, top, and bottom? Or would that not let enough breeze pass through? And would it be a problem with chewing from the rabbits. Lastly, I figured 30" would be too long for me to be able to get a rabbit in the corner, but if housing a larger breed what are my options? Having the rabbit in a run for longer periods of time? How much excerise/time out of the cage should they get a day/week? Thanks for the help.

2 cages 24x24x18 out of 25ft of wire. Would not be able to get 2 24x30x18. Make sure when building a cage for rabbits to use 1/2x1" on the floors to make things easier. Also if you are going to build them yourself it is best to use wire that is the right width so you only have to cut the length. I like using 1x1 on the sides, 1/2x1 on the bottom, the top out of 1x2 so I can lay things on the top for them to eat and they can get it. All my cages open on the top so I do not have any problem reaching anything even with my 30x36 cages.Keep in mind that the sides in the "birthing" cages need baby saver wire. Good Luck!
