Syd is an expensive proven show and breeding buck. In colony he's given me plenty of litters. However I caged him recently and then tried to get him to breed a doe about 3 weeks later on a 77F with cool breeze day. She was all over him and he just laid there. He finally mounted her but being inexperienced she didn't lift and he gave up too soon. After that he laid down with his chin on the lip of the wood frame cages and let the doe hump him for 5 mins before I threw her back in her cage.
Any way to up Syd's energy? He is a slightly older buck having had a great show career and then being used for breeding before I bought him but I know he can produce. Maybe if I put them in a neutral large space since he bred in colony fine? Add some boss or oats? I don't want him to get fat. He's about the right weight now. Just leave her in his 48x30" cage for a couple days? Can you give rabbits viagra?
