Bubble breaks thru!

"Bubble" one of two sisters sired by Big Boy our original buck threw 5 yesterday. She had missed her first breeding, but was obviously successful with the second.
She displays Big Boys bouncing back and forth in her cage and was quite nervous--hopping into the box causing a squeal if I went near. SHe has milked quite well; very full tummies.

I am hoping she doesn't squish the kits with her activities nor overfeed them as she remains in the box for a spell...

If your nest box has a hood, try moving the kits up under it so that the does doesn't land on them when she jumps in.

It seems we have one runt; the other four are nearing twice the size and get a LOT more milk.<br /><br />__________ Tue May 18, 2010 2:08 pm __________<br /><br />At the 5 week mark, all are sizing nicely and continue to nurse. Momma was re bred and the kits will stay another few couple weeks.
