well as i have already posted my dutch doe had 8 kits. when i bought her she came with a 2 week old litter of 5. the next day the runt died. it was about half the size of the other kits. i think i have a pic of it in my gallery. well in the new litter she has 8 and one is definitely the smallest.
luckily i bought a small small bottle with 4 diffirent size nipples. i have taken the thinnest one and put the hole in the end. i am going to try and feed it some warmed up milk then take it back up to the nestbox. that way it can stay warm with the other kits and maybe still get fed by the doe.
the milk is goats milk, as i have two that i milk myself.
what do you all think of supplement feeding with a bottle the smallest couple of the kits? keeping them in the nestbox and just removing them to try and supplement feed them.
the biggest reason i am going to try this is because this one is all wrinkly. such as i have seen on the net of kits and people were saying that means the kits is not eating and is dehydrating. also i would like to take some stress off the doe. i dont want to burn her out with this litter.
thanks!

I have done this myself, with about half of a litter of 9, when their mother wasn't making enough milk. I started when they were about 4 days old.

Baby rabbits do need more nutrition packed into the milk than goat milk alone will provide. After reading several recipes, this is what I used:

1/2 Cup canned evaporated goat's milk, undiluted
1/2 Tablespoon cane syrup
1 Egg yolk

Being evaporated, the goat's milk is double strength.

I posted about all the hows and whys here: formula-feeding-baby-bunnies-pics-vids-t3691.html

We raised all of these rabbits to weaning. When we moved them to their own cage, Snack was still smaller than the others. By butchering time, Snack was the same size as everybunny else. :)

Recently I bought two rabbits I am not getting how to feed them. The information provided is very useful. Can any one please post some precautions taken for the rabbit.
