There is a guy on Craigslist with some Dutch does, and he said they were blue tort???
I didn't think there was a blue tort, anybody else know about it?

The picture wasn't very good but from what I could see it looked more like chocolate.

Just because blue tort isn't a recognized colour in a breed doesn't mean it can't pop up. I currently have a blue tort in a Mini Rex litter even though I didn't intend on getting Tort at all let alone a dilute but it's there.

Tortoise is a recognized color. According to dutchrabbit.com, color is to be a bright, clean orange, blending into smokey-blue shading over the lower rump, and carrying well down the haunches. The top color should carry down into the under color, blending into a dark cream color next to the skin. Upper portion of tail color should match top body color. The shadings on the head should be the darkest at the whisker bed, blending into lighter shadings on the jaws, darkening again at the ear base, and blending up the ears to match body color. The smoky blue shading is to include the underside of the tail. Eyes to be Dark Brown. Faults include white hairs, smut or smudge, throughout the orange color, lack of bold shadings, underside of tail light in color. Disqualifications include the absence of shadings.

They also come in Black, Blue, Chocolate, Steel, and Gray.

Oh dear, maybe I'm just confused and they are called blue tort.
The one in my avatar is a tort.
Are they called blue torts because of the shading, or the base color?

A blue tort is a dilute of a black tort.

In Dutch because the fur is longer then a Mini Rex the colour is not as intense since it's spread out a bit more.

Hi
These aren't showable in mini Rex right?
And if you have a red baby out of red x blue tort will it's color be good as a red?
Then it may produce torts as well?
Thank you
Angela

Its not a showable color in Dutch. people have colors of Dutch that arent showable. It just became showable in Netherlands.I had an opal once very pretty not showable either.
