I've started breeding rabbits and I was sold a "Lynx" doe (I can get photos of her tomorrow) and bred her to an Orange broken. When I first got my "Lynx" she was super dark almost chocolate color and then shed out to pretty light.

4 kits were born; 1 was a false tri charlie, 2nd was a broken (similar fur coloring to the one I'm posting but no otter), 1 smutty looking Orange broken, and the last is posted below.

She has a beautiful blue/gray shading on her sides and is an otter.

This is a photo of her a couple of hours old.

Week old with siblings.

So is she a Blue Tort Otter? Or does it have another label? Thanks!

It's a little hard to see the kit's picture well because of the handler's shadow

Thank you for the genes Caroline!!! <3

I added more photos of the kit:

The kit above is losing the "stripe" of the tort daily, so I'm curious how she'll fully shed out.

And mom who was sold to me as a Lynx as a baby (she was nervous and is in a patchy shed for her winter coat):

I just want to get the colors right so I know going forward. Some photos of the mom match Lynx colors found on the net, others look not close at all.

neither look like blue torts to me.

I'm not quite sure what colour I'd call them.

Perhaps black tort with a high rufus?

She & the baby look like black tort otters to me. Mother especially. That rufus is too bright to be a dilute

Thank you everyone! I will have to amend her pedigree going forward (Lynx to Tort) when I breed her daughter. I appreciate it!

Edit: Also is Cream and Fawn considered the same color? Some sites say Fawn is a dilute of Orange and Cream is a dilute of Fawn, just checking so I get those two straight because they seem to almost appear to be the same color. One of her siblings I thought was Orange, but now I see the eyes are pretty light brown/grayish so I'm wondering if she's a dilute. I've now read that Fawn has been removed as an official color for ARBA.

2nd Edit: I think I found what Lyra could be while searching deep within the genetics link site on the top of the forum

Looks very similar to her (when her summer coat is gone, the ticking and coloration are pretty spot on), they label this in submission for Black Agouti/Grey Agouti.

3rd Edit:

I was messing with Kim's Rabbit Hutch genetics calculator and if Orange x Tort were crossed the majority of the babies would be Tort and Orange, it all came together. Thanks again to everyone! <3
