My new Silver Marten buck that I bought last Sunday has blood on the floor of his cage.
I saw no signs of blood on him.
He is approx. 10 months old.
Any ideas on what it could be, and what I can do would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Farm Girl

Did you check all of his toe nails? Maybe he tore one. I assume he is in quarantine, but if not, is he housed next to another buck? Maybe one of his testicles got bitten? You are certain it is blood and not dark urine?

Good luck- I hope it is nothing serious!

Thank you! I found the culprit. one toenail was short and bloody. I really should have checked them before I asked on here. :slap:

I do have them quarantined away from all my other rabbits
I have been waiting for a long time for these buns and I'm so excited now that I have them. :p

Thanks again for your advice MSD! :)

Hah! :p My first guess! :pinkbunny: Sometimes I just have to pat myself on the back!

I'm so happy it was just that! Have you trimmed everybunny else nails?

Yea, Actually I had trimmed them the day before so I was surprised that it had gotten torn.
I was careful not to cut them too short but maybe I had?

I love this thing! :pancake: :pancake:
