I have a black marten but his parents, dam was siamese sable martin and father was smoke pearl. Does that mean that he has 2 recesive genes for black therefore will not be carrying shaded colours or sable? I don't want him to throw shaded kits and want to get solid black martens no shading.

He can't be a full color. He has to be a shaded. It is genetically impossible to get full color from 2 shadeds because they don't have the genes. If there was some chin in there I'd say he's a silver marten which look very close to plain blacks. Are you certain on the smoke pearl and it's not a blue chin? Otherwise maybe a black seal marten since sable x sable = seal which would be darker than a sable marten.

If you want full colors with plain black martens you will have to go get some rabbits that are not shaded.

Oh wait - I was wrong, his father was a black silver marten. Its his mom that was shaded smoke pearl. So he is black silver marten but I'm wondering if he could carry the shaded from his mom, or if he can't carry shaded because he is a full colour black marten and therefore would have 2 recessive genes for the solid black?

Chin to make silver marten is a shaded type gene. It is not full color. He is probably a silver marten so chin with either sable or himi. He is still not a plain black marten.
