Best meat rabbits?

With the Rex, very few people breed them for meat anymore, so you need to find someone whose kits grow at a rate equal to the othr commercial breeds. That will be a tad bit difficult. All my rabbits go to meat eventually, but the Rex grew so slow, I added Silver Fox for a better growth rate. And eve with those, with heritage breeds being rare, you still need to make sure the breeder is getting large litters and fast growtth.

I've got Rex and am just growing out my starter Silver Fox trio. I'm pretty happy with both breeds, I'm getting some pretty good growth rates in my Rex herd along with some really nice colours in the nestboxes.

The SF's are very nice looking buns, how do they compare with American Chinchillas as far as meat and fur, are SF's good Momma's? There is a breeder I found here that has these two breeds. I would love to get my hands on some Rex's or Satins but I don't think it's going to happen. :/

You could always start with Am Chins or SF, then branch out to Rex or Satins as they become available, too.

SF are right up there, with the incredible fox like fur.
