I have a california breed of rabbit that one morning I went out to the barn and here she had a bent head. It is like someone took her head and turned it so her ears were pointing to the right. I had bred her prior to the incident with no problems with fight or trauma with the buck. I have a rabbitry that I'm growing but don't really know what to do with this one. Do I see what happens at kindle time as to if there are any kits or what? She is only 8 months old and on her first litter. Thank you in advance as to any knowledge of what it could be and any advice as to what to do with her.

Sounds like either wry neck (treatable) or she may have spazzed out and actually dislocated her neck. Is she grinding her teeth or still able to eat and drink? Does she go in a circle when she hops? If so, it may be an inner ear infection.

Don't know how much you want to spend on this doe, but if she is important to your breeding program, you might want to take her to a rabbit-savy vet.

Good luck!

Thank you I will look into some of the things you offered. It is greatly appreciated.

I went and checked on her and yes when she hops it's in a circle. I am sorry for asking these questions as I am new but is there something special to treat the ear infection with. Thank you for responding it is greatly appreciated.
