I bought them. I found I didn't use the hay part much. I have hanging cages and putting the hay in the cage works well for me. I ended up drilling out the rivets and flipping the "hay" part over and now I have a larger pellet hopper. I don't know about the lids, I made my own. Another issue I've had is that the pellets don't fall in to the feed area sometimes. In the morning I find I have to bang the bottom of the feeders to get the pellets to drop. This might be the case with most feeders, I just don't have any experience with other brands. And it is very humid where I live, so that may contribute to it too.

I bought one to try it out. I'm not using it anymore. You end up with bits of hay clogging the mesh, and as nicnmike mentioned, the pellets don't want to fall all the way down where the rabbits can get them. It was a neat idea, but it doesn't work in practice.

Much easier to attach a piece of hardware cloth to the outside of the cage and stuff the hay in that -- they can pull it through the 1x2 cage wire. Or just put the hay inside the cage.

(No, the regular feeder lid doesn't fit. The lid that goes with the "Feedsaver" does work, however.)

I have this issue as well, and I am in humid area too. I just make it part of my routine..."bang the feeder, put in food, bang again to settle the food"...

Glad I asked before I ordered them. I do have a strip of hardware cloth left over from a project that I can make into hay feeders. Just looking for a way to keep the hay accessible but out of the angora's coats :).
