Well, I got Oliver out to groom him and trim his nails before tomorrows show, and he has just a small amount left that he is molting, and it is right on top of his head, and it looked fine today, and now, he has a small(very small) bald spot. Should I even show him now? Will the judge understand that he is molting and that is why he looks so funky?

I am so mad at him! Why couldn't he wait just two days before over grooming? He has a kind of 'V' mark on top of his head, and now a little bald spot.....

Stuart is molting too.......He looks worse than Oliver, just not balding.....

Well this is not giving me good vibes about tomorrow! :(

That my friend is:
Murphy's Law! When you least expect, expect it.
I would go ahead and show him, there's a chance that
many more than yourself are having the same problem this time of year.
He may not do as well as he could but then again, you never know!
Good Luck at the Show.
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

I wouldn't sweat it. As Otter said, the chances are pretty solid that everyone else in the showroom will be having the same type of issues this time of year.

Look at it this way--if you show them and they don't do well, at least you know but you'll have something to work forward from. If you don't show them, you'll likely find yourself wondering why you didn't do so.

I have the opposite problem I have a doe who really needs to moult (hasn't moulted in about 6 months) and I really want to show her but she has 12 week old babies and her coat is a little worse for wear right now and nothing has worked to force a moult. All my other rabbits are moulting with no problem.

I checked the ARBA Standeard of Perfection and for a Nethie the fur is only 10 points, however, is does list that a fault is "fur that is molting, or in a broken condition".
I would show him anyway and just expect a point deduction for the fur condition.
