Only one though, it looks like dad too.. I was hoping for like a mix-up between solids and broken. But I'll settle for one. I'm just glad she finally had it. But now I wanna know how it is she got so big.. Over just one. She had 5 last time and was nowhere near as big... Oh well.. Here's a pic of it! :D *Still waiting for another doe to kindle plan on giving the baby to her or if she has a lot giving some to the other mom.*

I'll post more if you guys want. This is the only one of this litter however. Should I keep a close eye on it?

Your doe may not be finished kindling. Sometimes there will be more kits hours or even a day later. As for the one, it will have trouble staying warm. Did the doe pull fur? I suggest filling a screw cap bottle with hot water and pulling a sock over it. Place it along one side of the nest box so the kit can move towards it or away from it according to its needs for warmth.

MORE PICTURES!!! :D :D

MaggieJ, More babies? I haven't seen the afterbirth and she seems angsty. Also my boyfriend asked me earlier if he thought that rabbits could have babies later like after they had a baby they could have more later on? *He knows nothing about rabbits* I told him I didn't think so but I'd look into it. So I just hopped on to post the pics and research it but you kinda answered my question for me haha >~< So I told him what you said and got a "See!! I told you!" So there could be more..? Well she pulled a LOT of hair and baby seems warm *Baby isn't moving too much in the box but when I take baby out it starts wiggling and making noises* but if baby gets chilly I'll definitely bring it in. Should I leave the nest box though? in case she has more later on? I have stuff to keep him warm inside obviously but yeah.

Yes, by all means leave the nest box in the cage in case she has more. If you bring the single kit indoors, any kind of small box or plastic bin will work, just add plenty of nesting materials. I believe there are other pets at your place -- be sure to put the kit where the dogs and cats can't get it!

We have a dog and cat that stay in our room. It's my kitten and his dog. But we have a toonn of pet carriers *No surprise lol* So I'd probably put a hot bottle or two at the end and some hair and I'll get some clean hay to mix with the hair. I'll also put like a dish towel in the bottom to help keep it warmer. The little baby seems pretty warm in the nest it borrows way down in there and sleeps. Stays rather still but it's very warm in all that hair. I'm just kinda worried about it over tonight.. Should I bring it in or leave it?

I have no way of knowing what your nighttime temperatures are, but err on the side of caution if there is any doubt.

It is normal for kits to be sleepy/inactive when they are in the nest and to wriggle and squeak when disturbed. The cooler air is uncomfortable for them and they complain a bit! LOL.

If the doe does not kindle more kits and your other doe has a normal litter, you may want to add this singleton to the second doe's family. If you do that, you can rebreed the first doe and hope for a better litter next time. But I would not do that until you are sure she won't kindle more kits this time around.

More waiting for you, I'm afraid!

Totally could be going to have more! And you likely won't see afterbirth, they eat it and clean up pretty quickly! Congrats:)

Her one side feels like there's a baby or two maybe. I think at least one. It's in the lower back right behind her hip it feels a bit big to be one but I guess we'll wait and see huh?
