In a few days my 2 new litters will start coming out of the nest box. Should I take the nest box out on the 14th day or just turn it over on it's side and leave it in. I am thinking little rabbit feet could get hung or slip through easily. I have the small wire(1/2 x 1/2 I think) on the bottom with the baby gaurd around the sides. I have also heard a recomendation to put a pieace of plywood on the floor for a few days after they come out. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! :D

I've only had two litters, but they've been fine with the normal 1/2 x 1 inch wire floors. I also didn't know about tipping the nest box, and they did just fine hopping in and out of it until I removed it. No baby guard either, the wire is 1" x 2" and while newborns might fit through that, they don't come out of the nest box until they're big enough not to fall out of the cage.

Any of the things you mentioned is a good precaution, it's up to you whether you want to.

It's probably easiest just to put a brick next to the low end of the nest box. It gives them a step up so they can get back in easily. Tipping the nest box is fine too, but it is kind of messy and for some reason it always made my does angry. I think they resented the sudden surge of hungry kits.
