My NZ kits are 4 weeks old & had to be separated from their Mother due to mastitis. Are they ready to be sold? They are fully weaned.

I would wait also. Even though they are eating on their own the stress of moving could make them ill. Rabbits in CA are required to be 8 weeks old before being sold.

No. 6 weeks minimum to avoid excess stress leading to complications and possible death and illegal to sell below 8weeks in many states. I often put them with a really laid back buck or doe when I wean at 4weeks so they have someone to copy. Young animals continue to learn alot from each other and adults even after weaning which can stop behavioral and breeding difficulties with the animal later on.

Another reason to not sell at this age is that the kits are still not regulating their body temperature on their own ... if you watch, they still all pile together to sleep. With my first litter, they were 7 weeks old when I felt their body heat as I reached in to pet them. IMHO at 6 weeks, they are still too immature to be sold seperately or even in pairs.

i will sell at 4 weeks IF they are weaned naturally, and IF they are eating/drinking normally, and IF it's not too hot/cold out, and ONLY to the right, knowledgeable person. otherwise it's 6 wks. i have bought from some people though that didn't make sure that the kits were ok to go...thankfully they did ok. if i were you, 6-8 weeks...but observe the rabbits. they will also tell u when they r ready.
