I read somewhere not to feed CalfManna to meat rabbits- no reason given that I can recall, but the bag lists rabbits as well as just about any other critter you can think of.

If anyone uses it, I'd be interested to know if you feed it all of the time or just for specifics like pregnant or nursing does, conditioning for show, etc.

I feed my lactating doe 1 Tblsp of Calf Manna each day, in addition to free feed pellets and grass hay. It helps with their milk production.

i feed calf mana to my meat rabbits to help em gain weight fast. I also feed it when a rabbit is not eating or i need one to molt.

Oh yes, Calf Manna will help a molting rabbit blow his/her coat in no time flat! I think it is the extra protein that does it, right LilFish?

I feed it to my lactating rabbits, and the kits. Guess I'm off to google...

I also feed it to my chickens when they are...crap...molting? I can't remember the word

I feed it to absolutely everyone. :p It makes my meat rabbits nice and big and muscular, helps my breeding does keep condition and it is currently helping to fill out the body on my best bun, a lovely Holland Lop buck who was a bit underweight when I got him. He's really shaping up amazingly with some Calf Mana and BOS added to his pellets.

I think the rule of "anything in moderation" applies...I mean, I shouldn't think it good for them to have too much Calf Mana at any single time...use some common sense and I doubt it'll ever be an issue. :)

Right now the bun's diet consists mostly of pellets at night and hay in the morning, with some vegis fed as well. (I'm hoping to add lots of other forage this spring.) What I envision is feeding a rotating variety of grains in the morning, when the pellets are gone so they don't root around and waste the supplements. Oats one day, barley the next, whole wheat, CalfManna, etc.- adjusting for working does as needed. It appeals to my sense of order, but I don't know if the bunnies will agree with my plan!

I feed all of the livestock in the morning and the kids feed at night, so that routine would work well for me. It would be easier to mix up all the supplements and feed a small amount daily but I am afraid some of them would eat what they like and waste the rest. Mixing supplements works well for our horses since we feed a wet mash and they have no choice but to slurp the mix down, and it simplifies our feeding since I can bag up their daily rations in advance. From what I've heard rabbits don't find wet foods appealing though.
