Hahaha, ok, here's a pic of my SF doe. She had 8 kits this morning and has been pulling hair for a few days. She literally pulled half of her fur coat out. Both sides & her rump have bald valleys.

All three does have pulled a lot of fur. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the weather? Days are fairly warm, near hot. But nights have been very cold, you can see your breath easily.

Anyone else ever deal with a doe that went a little too fur pulling happy?

She's a good girl, little silly, obviously, but she'll be fine, just gonna be bald for awhile...

Last pic is of her nest, kits are in there. This is after I pulled out fur 3x, each time a massive amount!

I've had a few does do this, but its usually a first litter thing in my cases. I just collect all the extras and keep it for the does that pull little to none.

Yea, I've been collecting all the extra fur from them.
This is her...2nd or 3rd successful litter. First two failed as she was a new mom, none of them had she pulled this much.

Had one do that with completely bare legs and lower half. Smooth as a new born.

lol better to have hair than no hair at all! Just store some away for the winter months in case some mommies don't pull enough. I had one doe that pulled TONS of hair for 3 kits(1 DOA)....then no hair for 8 kits (4 DOA & 4 Live). Luckily, I saved hair from her last litter, so that saved me from a panic attack. I also have a Fuzzy Holland and I saved the wool that I cut off of him. Very helpful!

And then there's scream who pulled no hair. But it was hot yesterday, so maybe she was wise...
