One of our Holland Lop does had kits 4 days early, they are all fully formed and wiggley but very small. The last litter she had one so now that there are 7, I know it's natural for them to be smaller. Her one is now approaching 6 weeks old and will go to her new home soon, but right now they are all housed together (mom, 6 week old, and newborn kits). Mom has great mother instincts and has pretty much weaned the older kit, but is tolerating her living with her still. New babies look like they have yet to eat, and I know they were born this morning so that's not uncommon. All new to me so any advice would be helpful-beyond excited to have these guys arrive and I got to witness the birth!

pull that older kit out.

it may still be nursing and if so mom will have no need to hop in the nestbox to nurse the wee ones.

Will do:) The littles all had nice bellys this morning but I DO NOT want to hurt their chances of survival. The mom has excellent mothering instincts so I think she could probably handle all 8 of them but at your suggestion I wont chance it....
