We are counting down at our house! We have only had a small rabbitry for a few months and are anticipating our first litter in the coming week.
We bred 3 does. So far only one of the 3 has shown signs of pregnancy though. She went from being sweet to growling & being protective of her space. She now has been digging like crazy. Today is day 24.
Hoping some kits survive as it's her first litter. She's a Holland Lop.

She is currently in an outdoor hutch (cold & snowy here). My husband gave me his blessing to bring one of our small hutches inside our shop when the time gets close. Would it be better to move her to the different location now or is it okay to wait until a couple days before the date?
I appreciate any tips/feedback. :)

Any things to watch for or tips when the time comes are welcomed!
Blessings ~

Is the shop heated? Sudden temperature changes are not good for rabbits. I would move her now or don't move the mum but just the kits in to the shop and take them out twice a day for feedings

My does tend to go off feed 36 to 24 hours befor kindling and go into a frenzy of nest building so give her plenty of straw or hay to carry around

The shop is not heated. It is a few degrees warmer than outside for sure but nothing drastic. So, she should adjust alright, right? I think I will go ahead and move her in tomorrow. We've been having some very low temps at night and I just want to make sure when the kits come it's warm enough for them.

If it's not heated then it shouldn't cause a problem.

Great! I just moved her this afternoon and she's getting settled in. Doesn't seem stressed by the new location! Thanks again. :D Now we shall wait for kits!
