Hi, I just recently bred my Amber rex doe to a "lynx" and most kits have no dove undercoat on the belly but do have it everywhere else. The buck has a white undercoat over his entire body. He comes from the same breeder who specializes in Amber and lynx. And crosses them. Another lynx I got from the breeder had a dove undercoat. I knew the same could happen in the litter. I figured the ambers probably carry "e" and that's why some lynx have the white under coat. But I didn't expect the result that I got.
Can someone explain what's going on with these kits? Why do they lack dove undercoat on the belly but not the rest of their body.
