So, I know that before the summer my buck fathered at least one successful litter, and my doe has had 3-4 litters per year before I got her. I bred my older doe to him in August and got nothing. Bred him again to my older doe, and the younger one in late September. Still nothing... We had a very hot summer and I chalked the first miss up to him still being heat sterile. Now I don't know what to think. Any suggestions? I am really getting discouraged about the whole mess, I know I am new at this so ANY help is appreciated.

If he hasn't been used for much breeding it could still be issues from the heat. It seems if you don't use them they can have problems for months. The more you breed them the faster they recover. Even then we were having problems through september. We finally started getting some kits halfway through october and I had 2 bucks in the colony since mid August.

I shacked my two boys up with their respective ladies last month-- and it looks like THAT may have worked for me-- The continuous exposure and activity will sometimes stimulate-- of course, if the rabbits fight, you cannot do the shacking up method!
