My Netherland Dwarf seems healthy but within the same day he will poo normal looking smallish poos and then later on some big oblong poos- like twice the size they should be - sometimes there's a little mucus on them. Does anyone know what would be causing this or what I should do to try and fix it?

Also, I should add that I feed a large amount of hay and about 1/8 a cup of pellets and big handfull of fresh grass every day. I feed the same to my other rabbits- including the other two NDs and noone has big poos except this one Nethie.

I'm guessing that the smallish ones are likely from when it eats more hay than anything else. It certainly seems to be the case when my satins are on their "hay day" diets.

Squidpop,
it seems to me that the Netherlands having a smaller stomach
can not safely handle the amount of greens you are feeding them.
I would go with more Pelleted Rabbit feed and maybe some Rolled oats.
As always, JMPO.

thanks- so I guess it is the grass, maybe that's why he seems not to like the grass as much as the rest of the buns- like I give them all a big handful but he often doesn't eat all his- I guess his digestive system is not as good at digesting it. I'll cut back on the grass and see if it changes.
