so tonight I was at a 4H meeting. I was invited to talk with the kids about showing rabbits, how to pick them up, trim nails etc.

It was rather fun though went later than I anticipated.

Anyways, I found it interesting. I talked with them about trimming nails and why it was so important, and the kids said "but trimming nails is scary, the rabbits don't like it". So I showed them how I trim nails and they thought that wasn't scary at all! :)

I showed them how to flip their rabbits...which led to the discovery of messy forelegs on three rabbits, and a weepy eye on another..which led to a talk about disease and how you need to be so careful with it.

We talked about pasturella and how it hides really well in rabbits and comes out in times of stress....and how it comes out in different forms, and how to lance an abscess.

I tell you all this because... some of what I told them comes from RT and I wanted to say thanks.

It's a good board and the collective knowledge here is invaluable.
